The inspiration for this necklace came from a special sugar maple tree that used to stand next to my childhood home. I would play with its blossoming crimson tree buds that carpeted our driveway, as well as catch its helicopter seed pods that twirled as they fell. I used fold forming to create the seed pods with folded textures that resemble the veins on the wings, as well as hollow forms with set stones that are reminiscent of blooming buds.
